Plagiarism Policy

Introduction

Globisteme International Journal (GIJ) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ethical publishing standards. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form and expects all submitted manuscripts to be original works created by the authors.

All submissions are evaluated for originality before publication.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the use of another person’s work, ideas, words, data, images, or research findings without proper acknowledgment or citation.

Plagiarism may include:

  • Copying text directly from published or unpublished sources

  • Using ideas or research findings without attribution

  • Paraphrasing content without proper citation

  • Duplicate publication

  • Self-plagiarism

  • Unauthorized use of tables, figures, or images

  • Submitting another person’s work as one’s own

Similarity Check

All submitted manuscripts may undergo plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.

The Editorial Board evaluates similarity reports carefully to determine whether overlap is acceptable academic referencing or unethical copying.

Acceptable Similarity Level

GIJ expects manuscripts to maintain a reasonable originality level.

Similarity may be considered acceptable when:

  • Proper citations are included

  • Standard technical terms are used

  • References and quotations are appropriately identified

Excessive similarity or unattributed copied material may lead to rejection.

Self-Plagiarism

Authors must not reuse substantial portions of their previously published work without proper acknowledgment.

Self-plagiarism includes:

  • Republishing identical manuscripts

  • Reusing large sections of text

  • Duplicate submissions to multiple journals

  • Republishing previously published data without disclosure

Authors must clearly indicate when any part of the work has appeared elsewhere.

Editorial Actions for Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified during submission or peer review, the journal may:

  • Reject the manuscript

  • Request revisions and proper citation

  • Ask authors for clarification

  • Suspend the review process

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, GIJ may:

  • Publish corrections

  • Issue retraction notices

  • Remove the article from the journal website when necessary

  • Inform authors’ institutions or funding agencies in serious cases

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  • Submitted work is original

  • Sources are properly cited

  • Quotations are clearly identified

  • Permissions are obtained where required

  • Data and images are authentic

All authors share responsibility for the integrity of the submitted manuscript.
